Defecto óseo glenoideo crítico en inestabilidad de hombro. Métodos de medición y su valor en la práctica diaria
Keywords:
Shoulder Instability, Glenoid Bone Loss, Measurement MethodsAbstract
The assessment of the glenoid bone loss in patients with shoulder instability ,either in primary or revision cases, is crucial for preoperative decision making.
The relationship between bone loss and recurrence in shoulder instability is near 4 to 67%. The preoperative algorithm that helps us in the decision-making start from the clinical history and continue to physical exam, radiological studies, MRI, and CT when necessary.
For glenoid bone loss measurements, we need to know the methods described in the literature and the practical value of each of them. There is no comparative study published that defines which of them is the most precise and reliable.
