Es fundamental la conservación del menisco, ya que es una estructura cartilaginosa que cumple funciones muy importantes relacionadas a la preservación del cartílago articular y estabilización de la rodilla.
La técnica de sutura meniscal todo adentro, tiene la ventaja de poder utilizarse en cualquier zona del menisco.
Hay evidencia de mejores resultados con la sutura meniscal versus la meniscectomía.
Se evaluó 28 pacientes con sutura meniscal, técnica todo adentro.
Se utilizaron las escalas subjetivas de Lysholm y Tegner. Del total de la muestra, hubo 2 fracasos de la sutura que requirieron cirugía, sin embargo, la mayoría de los pacientes experimentaron una clara mejoría.
La sutura meniscal todo adentro tiene la ventaja de ser una técnica rápida, segura, que no suele requerir incisiones adicionales.
